One problem with getting a therapy dog is costs. How much would a therapy dog be if we infested in one for Shepherd?
Canine Assistants is a non-profit organization that trains and provides service/therapy dogs to enhance and improve the lives of children and adults who have physical disabilities, seizure conditions or other special needs. They place from 75 to 100 dogs each year and have placed over 1,500 dogs since they opened in 1991. Their cost? Absolutely nothing!

The lifelong care for each of their dogs is well over $20,000 so Canine Assistants creates sponsorships to cover the medical, food and training costs for the life of every dog placed. 95% of donations go directly to the training and placement of service and seizure response dogs with children and adults throughout the country.
If Shepherd went through Canine Assistants, there would be no cost, whatsoever.
